West of the City Romantic Retreat

1. Agreement: These rules govern the (“Contest”). No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest. The act of entering the Contest constitutes acceptance of the Contest rules and the decisions of the Contest judge.

3. Sponsor: The Contest sponsor is West of the City Magazine. (a publication of Metroland Media Group Ltd.)

4. Prize Contributors: The following companies are prize contributors and not sponsors of the Contest: Vintage Hotels (Pillar & Post, Prince of Wales, Queen’s Landing, 100 Fountain Spa at Pillar and Post, Secret Garden Spa at Prince of Wales), Peller Estates, Mercedes-Benz Oakville Autohaus.

5. Eligibility: The Contest is open to all residents of Ontario only and have attained the age of majority (19), except for employees, immediate families and anyone living with any employee of the Sponsor or Prize Contributors or their respective corporate affiliates, advertising or promotional agencies. Limit of one entry per household.

6. Contest: Enter the Contest by visiting here and filling out the necessary information. The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. EST on Wednesday, March 4th 2009 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, April 24, 2009. The selected contestant will be chosen by judge’s decision, which will take place on May 1st, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. EST. The selected contestant will be contacted by telephone or email by a representative of the Sponsor, and must reply within 48 hours to maintain eligibility. In order to be eligible to win, the selected contestant must correctly answer a skill-testing question.

7. Prize: Prize will be supplied by Prize Contributors between June 5, 2009 and August 1, 2009. Blackout dates and standard rental agreements and restrictions may apply. Prize winner will retain no further claim to any prize not collected by Saturday, August 1, 2009.

8. Release: Prior to receiving the prize, the winner will be required to show valid photo ID and to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release form releasing the Sponsor and Prize Contributors and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, foundations and related companies, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents and sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies and their respective heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns of all liability, confirming compliance with the rules and consenting to the use of his or her name and photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsor and/or its advertising and promotional agencies.

9. Privacy: We use your personal contact information to administer contests, including contacting, announcing and promoting prize winners. In addition, we may use this information to send you offers or information from us, our affiliates and from selected sponsors or advertisers ("Marketing Offers"). If you do not wish to receive Marketing Offers, you may opt-out at any time by: following the instructions at the bottom of any email Marketing Offer you receive, informing your telemarketer at the time you are called with a Marketing Offer, calling 1-800-265-3673 and requesting that your personal information not be used for Marketing Offers, or emailing slennox@thespec.com and requesting that your personal information not be used for Marketing Offers. 10. Banning: The Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, prohibit any person from entering any contest whom it believes to be abusing the rules. Such abuse includes entering false information and entering more than once.

11. Other: All decisions of the Contest judge are final. Contests are governed by the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify any contest or the contest rules at any time without notice. All prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and are not convertible to cash. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize or portion of the prize with a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes are awarded as-is and no warranties or guarantees are implied or expressed, beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. The odds of winning depend on how many eligible entries are received.
