On October 21 feast for a cause with the second annual Restaurants for a Change. For one day only more than 40 restaurants in over ten cities across Canada will donate their total food sales to Community Food Centres Canada and other partners to offer healthy food and empowering food programs that help to build health, hope and community in low income areas. Restaurants in Ontario include The Drake Hotel 150 and Bar Buca in Toronto, Revival in Stratford and Rapscallion Rogue Eatery in Hamilton.
The inaugural Restaurants for Change event in 2014 raised over $120,000 for Community Food Centres Canada which resulted in 414 community kitchen sessions, 1,040 community garden sessions and 143,419 healthy meals served in 1,053 meal sessions.
