Help an elephant while you vacation

Over the last 75 years the Indian elephant population has dramatically dwindled, reaching endangered status in 1986 with an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 remaining. Through United Planet you can help make a difference by volunteering at the Jaipur elephant sanctuary, living and working alongside local people, feeding, bathing and cleaning the elephants and performing general maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Volunteers must commit to at least two weeks at the elephant sanctuary and can start their program at any time during the year. Although there are no language requirements, volunteers must be 18 years old to participate. Go online for more details.
