HOME: Poolside perfection

This spectacular estate home is located at the end of a secluded lane with a steep natural treed ravine providing privacy as it wraps around the property on three sides. The homeowners took advantage of this secluded space and Betz Pools created a resort-style backyard oasis.

The French country influence is clearly evident in the style of the architecture and materials, which includes old world random stone work with wide mortar joints and contrasting dark timber supports and trim. The highlight of the backyard is a massive 19-foot by 49-foot dry Gunite infinity pool with visual zero edge.

A central focal point is the exquisite zero edge perimeter overflow spa. It is accessed via the shallow tanning shelf which features a premium Pebble Tec finish in dark blue. This visually matches the pool's French Gray Pebble Tec finish. The spa's oversize black tiles look like glass when bathed by the overflow.

Across the deep end the pool's visual zero edge is accomplished with a clear tempered glass wall which vanishes when viewed from a distance to create a striking infinity edge. The pool has an auto leveler to ensure an optimal water level is maintained at all times.

Warm summer evenings are made all the more welcome with the convenience of a premium stainless steel BBQ station. Whether entertaining guests or enjoying an evening with family, what a glorious place to unwind and be soothed by the calming sounds of nature. The entire back of the home comprises a massive kitchen and great room. The expansive adjoining patio area is partially covered and sumptuously appointed with a series of lounge areas plus an outdoor dining table for eight.

The large pool deck is finished in premium acid washed concrete to provide the look of limestone. Extra thick natural limestone coping in a bullnose finish was chosen for its pleasing proportion with the large the pool. The classic diagonal grass inserts in the deck utilize artificial turf to ensure a continuous manicured look.

Another striking highlight is the cabana which adds to the rustic French country look with accents of weathered barn board and timbers. On the left side is the wet bar and serving area, in the middle is a lounge with TV and wood burning fireplace, and on the right is a bathroom and change room.
