Thanks to The Angel Project (TAP) we all have the opportunity to be an angel to those in need at the 2012 Couture for a Cause gala: The Most Heavenly Party on Earth. Taking place on Saturday, October 13 at the Hastens Showroom in Toronto's Distillery District, the evening will consist of a fashion show, live and silent auctions and signed memorabilia from Canadian Olympic hockey medalist Becky Keller and Walk Off The Earth. TAP provides long- term care patients ““ most paralyzed to a certain degree ““ who have been left without family or friends. Their programs include visits by volunteers, the donation of presents and organized outings. “Human interaction ““ conversation, a smile or a quick hello ““ can mean so much to patients who have no one,” says founder Lisette Kingo. “It broke my heart that there are those who are alone, not just on the holidays, but all the time, and our small efforts mean so much. All of us can be angels.”
Tickets are $125 each, or $200 for two.
