Unique fashion

The Cashmere Collection comes to the runway this September, for its annual display of fashion with compassion by 15 leading Canadian designers, including Burlington designer Joseph Tassoni. Each designer will create a gown using only Cashmere bathroom tissue. This year’s theme celebrates magnificent ballgowns inspired by 16th century Venice, in reference this year’s most worn accessory – the mask. An annual fund-and-awareness raiser for the breast cancer cause, the fashion show debuts virtually in late September, ahead of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cashmere.ca

Dr. Martens iconic boot turns 60

This year, the 1460 Dr. Martens boot celebrates its 60th anniversary.  When introduced in England, the boots were branded as ‘Airwair’ and came complete with a black and yellow heel loop featuring the brand name and the slogan “With Bouncing Soles”. Its name, 1460, was named after the date of its inception, April 1st, 1960. Today, it has the same distinctive markings and unmistakable 8-eye silhouette, made in the same way.
