Christmas house tour

The St. Andrew’s Christmas House Tour is a long standing tradition in Oakville to get you into the Christmas spirit. The tour will present a mix of architecturally unique homes decorated for the Christmas season by talented local designers.   This year, St. Andrew’s 20th Biennial Christmas House Tour is on December 6 & 7. A Candlelight House Tour is on Friday, Dec. 6. On Saturday, Dec. 7, St. Andrew’s Christmas House Tour runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Standrewshousetour.ca

Farm fun

Get into the holiday spirit with Springridge Farm’s annual Christmas activities every weekend from Nov. 23 to Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy painting a glass ornament or decorating a gingerbread cookie. Visit Santa, and select a Fraser fir tree starting in mid-November. Pick up freshly baked cookies, fruit pies and tarts. Springridge has everything you need for Christmas entertaining: dips, sauces, spreads and jams. Did you know less than 10 per cent of plastic used in Canada gets recycled? With our current habits, Canadians will throw away approximately $11 billion worth of plastic materials each year by 2030. The federal government has pledged to make  efforts to reduce Canada’s plastic waste with the ban of harmful single-use plastics as early as 2021.
